MR GPU-Accelerated GI Max Maya 2015
Mental Ray’s GPU accelerated GI engine prototype for Max and Maya 2015 (MR 3.12 only)
It's just a Mel and MS Script, but it works fine here (medium machine i7 2700K, old gtx 465), 5-10 seconds faster, it just needs more CUDA cores, I believe your machine is better than mine
Download the script bellow the page and also read the limitations.
Maya :
1. Put da script to your Maya script folder
2. Open your maya scene, set render to MR, make sure FG is on (and GI/optional)
3. Run the script by type GI_GPU()
4. Enable GI GPU, Enable Use GPU
5. Enable Override FG globals and set to 4,2,25
6. Render
Max :
1. Of course you know how to run ms script eh ?
2. Set render to MR, make sure FG is on
3. Run da script
4. Render
Just in case :
I know MR is getting old, but believe me, this grandpa is one of the greatest render engine
PS : Almost all render engines are good as long as it has passes with higher bit depth (16,32 or float) for linear workflow, at the end...the compositor wins.
